Congratulations to AICZ member Jack Nettis on his promotion to Director at Deloitte in Zurich. Jack is an American CPA who now leads Deloitte’s US expat tax team in Switzerland. In this role, Jack not only consults companies on the structure and compliance requirements for their expat programs, but is also an expert on individual taxation issues, especially for Americans living in Switzerland. Jack and his wife, Jessica (Jess), moved to Zurich in 2022 after six years in Geneva, where their two children were born.
Jack felt an affinity for the German-speaking world from a young age. His father was in the US Air Force and worked at the NATO school in Oberammergau, Germany. The family moved back to their home state of Ohio near Cleveland when Jack was in 2nd grade, but he continued German classes in high school and college, along with his major in accounting. As an undergraduate he was already looking for international opportunities; he arranged to study abroad in Salzburg, Austria and Wuhan, China.
