CARAVAGGIO a multi-media art lecture, February 13, 2025

Our next art lecture in our series is on Caravaggio, the fascinating Italian painter who broke out of the mold in the late 16th century, to be held on Thursday, February 13 at 19:15. Once again the American Women’s Club of Zurich will participate. It will be held at YVY, the shop and studio of the world renowned leather designer Yvonne Reichmuth, at Dufourstrasse 31, 8008 Zurich …an 8 minute walk from Bellevue. 

 

Once again, the lecturer will be Leila Mebert. Leila has a degree in classical literature and archaeology,  which she uses to provide a unique and unexpected insight into her subject. She will take us on a journey through time, incorporating history, philosophy, religion, drama, photography and cinematography. Leila uses Art to weave a story of human history,  which gives us a key to understand our own stories and those of the world we live in today.

 

We have the further luxury of being at the studio of Yvonne Reichmuth. Yvonne and her team create unique leather accessories for Hollywood. Their clients include Madonna, Taylor Swift, and and and… She will share her story with us. Visit their website at YVY.ch for further info on YVY.

 

Advanced tickets are required. Members of both the American International and the American Women’s Clubs have an entrance fee of 50CHF. Spouses and non-members are most welcome at a fee of 60CHF.
